Five Tips To Follow A Healthy Diet

Hello folks! I know I’ve been putting off blogging for a while. And the longer I put it off, the more pressure I felt to produce something wonderful and exciting for you, something which is common for all of us. Planning a diet is a piece of cake, but adhering to it with sincerity is a challenge. Still, it’s not a hard nut to crack.
Eating healthy is good but restricting on foods too much may lead you to frustration. Taking food as your enemy is the most common mistake you do as a rule. Make food your best friend! Maintain a friendly relationship with food so that you feel comfortable and happy. Trust your body, listen to its desires. You must know that intuitive eating is better than following the food rules.
Stop being rigid and ask yourselves this big question- “Are you mentally healthy?”. If not, then you are going through a stressful situation. WHO (World Health Organisation) defines health as “a state of complete physical, mental and social well being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”. This means, mental or psychological health is imperitive for a healthy life.
Here the question arises; how then can we eat healthy? It’s simple. These are my five tips to follow a healthy diet:
1. Start Slow
We don’t expect you to follow a certain food rule or diet suddenly and rapidly as soon as you’ve gained knowledge about it. It requires time. Start slow. Remember the phrase? “Slow and steady wins the race”. Apply this in your daily routine and see the result. You will be amazed to know that it really works! Then, when you’ve started gaining the pace, just go with the flow and cross the finish line.
2. Have Patience
Most of you lack patience. When you are planning a diet, stick to it and be patient. For an instance, you are following a zero-oil diet or non-spicy diet in dinner. Follow it consistently without a break. You may want to follow it alternatively or sometimes only twice a week. But don’t just leave it in between and brush it off! This type of tendency would lead you to nowhere and you would be far from achieving your weight loss goals.
3. Keep Experimenting
Keep experimenting with foods. This way you won’t feel tedious. It will be fun and I bet you will enjoy it! Eat those foods which you feel comfortable with. Choose wisely. Foods should make you feel better not low. Check your progress later. If you dislike any food item, you may add variety to it or take it in other forms to make it platable.
4. Try Alternatives
You don’t need to be rigid with foods. Suppose, you’ve to include iron and calcium in your daily diet and your nutritionist has recommended spinach to be your daily intake. You obviously won’t like this idea if you hate spinach. Spinach is not the only source which contains calcium and iron. You can try replacing it with liver, soyabean, cottage cheese, milk etc which could give you substantial amounts of iron and calcium.
5. Gain Nutritional Knowledge
Try to know about the health benefits of foods which you are consuming. This way, you will start appreciating foods and you will even relish it. The more nutritional knowledge you gain, the more food you would crave for.
